Marbled cover papers now available for our Bookbinding Starter Kit Refill Packs

Hello lovely Bookbinders –  It’s been a while since I made a ‘blog post’, but I thought this bit of news was worthy of a post on here, rather than just a quick announcement on my Learn Bookbinding Facebook page.

I’m very pleased to announce that we added a gob smacking eighteen new designs to the range of Refill Packs available for my Bookbinding Starter Kit!

In a slight shift to our usual beautifully illustrated patterned sidings, these new additions are all glorious printed marbled papers, created by the wonderfully talented Jemma Lewis – allowing you to add an exciting new look to your handmade book collection!

As always, each refill pack contains the materials to make one A5 hardback, quarter cloth, multi-signature 96 page notebook, the same style of book you might have learned how to make with my popular Learn Bookbinding Starter Kit.

As if that wasn’t exciting enough, we’ve gone one step further with these new packs and you will now be able to customise your chosen Refill Pack to create a truly bespoke handmade book!

Previously when I have added a new design to my range, I would pair it with a pre-selected colour of bookcloth, for instance Strawberry Thief with a red book cloth. But who are we to say what cover papers and book cloth go together! With all of our new marbled papers & any further new refills we add you will be able to unleash your full creativity and put together whatever glorious combinations take your fancy!

Not only can you now select which colour book cloth to use with your chosen design, you can also pick from plain, lined or dotted short grain bookbinding paper for the pages, and choose what colour of headband and bookmarking ribbon you’d like to complement your new handmade book.
