We’re so excited to bring you our long anticipated new “workshop in a box” – the leather travel notebook bookbinding kit. In recent years this totemic style of notebook has reached a cult status among stationary addicts worldwide and its not difficult to understand why. It is conceptually ingenious yet simple and the timeless, understated Japanese styling is an harmonious balance between form and function.
It is the quintessential place to organise, plan and record all your adventures, whether they are personal or global. Of course, its not just voyagers and explorers who love these notebooks, they are perfect for everyone; bullet journalers, note keepers, list makers, authors, composers, artists, inventors, and scribblers of every kind.
The cover is a single piece of thick, rugged, superior quality, full grain ‘pull-up’ cow hide. A beautiful leather; soft and robust with a mildly distressed finish. This leather is richly drum dyed and impregnated with oils and waxes; a finish designed to become more beautiful with use. Over time your notebook will mature, accquiring its own unique patina and character.
The true appeal of this notebooks lies in the ingenuity of its design. It is flexible and customisable. The cover contains interchangeable, replaceable saddle-stitched booklets with card pockets and a transparent folder. There is a binder clip to hold rough note paper and a smart pen clip. Since every part of this notebook is replaceable, you can put it to work in daily use knowing it will remain your lifetime companion.

This is on the simpler end of bookbinding, so easily within the capabilities of practically anyone, especially when following the detailed and comprehensive step-by-step photographic instructions.
I spent a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon creating a beautiful leather traveller notebook. The thick leather cover feels lovely to touch and hold and looks gorgeous (I went for the Hickory colour, which is a rich dark brown ).
The three types of paper – dotted, lined and plain – provide a good mix of options for use. And the ‘accessories’ (brass in my case) look great with it.
The tools are good quality (for the lite kit, the sealing pliers and awl), there’s also plenty of the sundries – thread, double-sided tape, etc. – so even if you go wrong there’s material to catch-up with.
All in all, a fantastic well thought through kit, even to how it’s all packaged up, which is now plastic-free. Highly recommended.

I was so excited to receive my lite Travellers Journal kit before Christmas and couldn’t wait to start it.
Today I spent the afternoon making my journal. The kit had everything I needed to make this beautiful journal. I had the lite kit as I had already purchased the beginners bookbinding kit, so didn’t need all the tools.

Fantastic kit.
I have just completed my kit after patiently waiting for a suitable day.
The light kit contained all the extras I needed, already owning the basics that are also included in the full kit.
The kit was packaged so thoughtfully and in a manner that look amazing and was totaly recyclable.
