Pterdomania – Fern Fever Wrapping Paper

£2.00

Coined by Charles Kingsley ‘Pteridomania’ describes the craze of ‘Fern-Fever’ that gripped Victorian England

Fashionable Victorians and serious botanists avidly collected ferns and kept them indoors in wardian cases; a cross between a piece of statement furniture and an indoor greenhouse.

Ferns where everywhere, used as motifs on furniture, fabric and wallpapers. Those crafty Victorians dried them in flower presses and used them to make pictures and decorate objects.

All wrapping paper is supplied rolled in a strong postage tube to avoid creases and folds.
