Moleskine Style Notebook Craft Workshop
April 20, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 4:30 pm£55
A classic utilitarian style of notebook that really needs no introduction… but I’ll give it one anyway 🙂. It’s approximately A5, hard-backed and around half an inch thick. It has a wipe clean cover, elastic closure, page marker, a pocket in the back and rounded corners so they can’t snag or dog-ear. Its everything you could need from a notebook and making your own gives you free rein for customization. With the bookcloth making skills you will learn in this workshop, the permutations are endless!
In this workshop you will begin by making buckram (bookcloth) from a fabulous selection of printed cotton fabric. Then using your bookcloth for the cover, you will make make one hard backed, full-bound, multi signature notebook approximately A5 with plain, squared or lined paper (or a mixture of all 3). You will learn how to make a rear pocket and add an elastic closure and bookmark.
Fabric will be provided on the day but feel free to bring along any you would like to use. Cotton or cotton mix light weight ‘fat quarters’ are ideal for this.
This Workshop will be held at my studio situated in Boutport Street in the centre of Barnstaple.
£55 per person including all tools & materials – and tea & biscuits 🙂
